Installed a 4.7KW ITS Heat Pump onto an existing Kwikot 150l geyser. I figured the 4.7KW would be more efficient than the 3kw model.
Energy costs have decreased by 45 - 48%. Less efficient in winter, get about a 30% saving in 3 winter months.
Love the fact that night or day there is hot water on tap plus you do not need a North facing roof. You can install it anywhere and virtually maintenance free too!

We got excellent information from this site, and got a few consultants to come out and have a look at our area together with roof slope and in the end we thought it best to install an ITS 4.7kw Heat Pump.
So far the system has been running well, and provides us with the cost savings needed. We are running a 200L and 150L geyser tank on this system and so far hot water has always been available.

Our 4.7kW ITS-4.7HDP Heat Pump was installed in June 2013 and our electricity usage is down by 40%.
Before the installation of the heat pump the average usage over a 1 year cycle was 778 units. After the installation of the heat pump the average is 459 units.
It was the best decision we ever made and the customer service was great.

Solaheat did a SIRAC installation in 2010. Installation was ok, but they used a AGS geyser with anode. Geyser deposits damaged the heat pump and so the pump had to be replaced.
I also replaced the geyser - SIRAC did did the work. It was a really good job, using a Solatherm geyser. To summarise - Solaheat service POOR; SIRAC service GOOD.

Stiebel Eltron Heat Pump Review

I have installed the Stiebel Eltron - WWK300AH heat pump early in August 2013 and never regretted my decision to kick the standard Kwikot geysers into touch.
It performs perfectly, providing hot water to my family of four without ever leaving me with a cold shower.
Power savings exceeded my expectations : In comparison with my neighbour, who also has a family of four, my electricity bill now averages R 1900-00 per month versus his of R 4600-00, using the conventional system.
Using an average saving of R 2700-00 per month, this gives a payback period of 14 months.
